Why Singas?
This nice word SIN GAS I heard in Spain, when I asked for water for my coffee, and the gaston asked: … ¿Agua mineral con gas o sin gas?
Sin gas means unfizzy, and this symbolize our conception of music.
You can hear effects and elements of break’n bossa, acid jazz, swing, trip-hop and folk from us, packed into an unfizzy conception. We are impressed by jazz, electronic, contemporary and world music, literature, and movie-art.
Our aim is to mix the traditions and the new experiment of music, and make connections with the contemporary arts. We usually use projections, films in our concerts. Its a frequent occurrence, that the music and the vision are equal, so they can create a new meaning.
Our lyrics are in hungarian and in english too. We have also done a few remixes or rethinked pieces by the inspiration of poems and jazz standards: poems: INdee, from the poet Sujjata Bhatt, titled Poem between cultures (with the participation of hungarian actor Ferenc Köles), new interpretations of old lyrics: Fever-Summertime, Don’t you mess with me (from Hootchie Coochie man).
Our live actions or performances are filled up with more jazz improvisations and caracteristic tunes compering to the place where we play.
We’ve already relesead the “Merry Go Round” and a few maxis like “Debüt Jazz 2005″, “Soundtrapp” and “Find Again”. The song Voice and … appeared on the latest compillations of CAFÉ del MAR, and Sun Set Café, which we are proud of that give us a lot to get farther in our music.
